[:nl]Wij hebben een concept en strategie ontwikkeld om het bedrijventerrein Cruquius in Amsterdam te transformeren tot bruisende buurt. Cruquius is nu nog een bedrijventerrein in de marge waar steeds meer bedrijven vertrekken en gebouwen worden overgenomen door nieuwe functies. De volgende stap is het verkleuren naar een gemengde buurt waar wonen en werken floreren. Naast een naadloze inpassing in het stedelijk weefsel geeft het concept Cruquius het (openbare) gebied een structuur mee die inspeelt op het klimaat en ruimte biedt aan een hobbelend ontwikkelingsproces. Nicolaus Samuelis Cruquius (1678 -1754) was een Nederlands waterbouwkundige en cartograaf en is grondleggers van de meteorologie. Hij startte in 1705 met het meten van de temperatuur, waardoor we nu de temperatuur van de afgelopen 300 jaar in beeld hebben. Zijn passie is het concept voor het gebied dat naar hem vernoemd is. Het spelen met de waterbouwkundige werken en de rol van het klimaat maken onze openbare ruimte gedurende alle seizoenen, weertypen, dagdelen en voor alle groepen bruikbaar en geven het gebied een hoge belevings- en gebruikswaarde. De openbare ruimte vormt het strategisch middel om het terrein te verbinden met de omgeving, plekken te verbijzonderen, compartimenten te creëren met een eigen identiteit, het gebied  organisch te laten ontwikkelen en om een goed financieel rendement te boeken.

A perfect fit into the urban fabric, the Cruquius’ concept and a strategy create an opportunity for organic growth without losing in the end quality. Nicolaus Cruquius (1678 -1754) was a Dutch water engineer, cartographer and the founder of the meteorology. He started measuring the temperature in 1705. His passion is our concept for the industrial area. Playing as a water engineer with dry and rainy conditions and making the public space usable during good and bad weather, across the whole day and through each season, gives the new area high quality and usability. The public space generates a strategy to connect the area with the surroundings, to add quality to specialized points of interests, to make compartments with specific identities, and allow for organic growth in order to develop a financial feasible project.

Program: public space, housing and urban amenities[:es]Nuestra estrategia transforma el área industrial del Cruquius en Ámsterdam en una activa área de ciudad. Nicolaus Cruquius (1678 -1754) fue un ingeniero hidráulico y cartógrafo holandés fundador de la meteorología. Fue el primero en empezar a medir la temperatura en 1705. Su pasión se convierte en nuestro concepto para el área industrial. Jugando con distintos niveles de agua y con condiciones secas y lluviosas creamos un espacio público que puede ser usado en distintas condiciones meteorológicas, a lo largo del todo el día y en todas las estaciones del año. Las posibilidades de ser usado con varios condiciones climáticas dan una gran calidad al espacio público. En este sentido el espacio público genera una estrategia para conectar el área con su contexto, para generar extra calidad en putos específicos y permitir crecimiento progresivo. Este crecimiento orgánico permite que e proyecto sea financiable.
