[:nl]De eerste stappen rondom online participatie waren al gezet voordat Corona ons tot echte veranderingen aanzette. We betrokken bewoners al digitaal via enquêtes, informatie en/of discussies, maar nu moesten we helemaal om. Online participatie dus en die omslag ging verrassend snel.De eerste bijeenkomsten waren dan ook al snel geregeld en bijna iedereen zat achter het beeld klaar om te luisteren en te reageren.

Online participatie heeft net als fysieke participatie ook struikelblokken. Want mis je bij fysieke bijeenkomsten een aantal groepen, dat geldt ook voor online participatie. Niet iedereen heeft een computer of is handig genoeg om online te kunnen participeren. En durven sommige mensen op een normale bijeenkomst niets te zeggen, bij een online bijeenkomst is dat hetzelfde. Hierbij kan ook de techniek een struikelblok zijn. Dus het is zoeken naar een balans zodat zo veel mogelijk mensen online kunnen participeren.

Online participatie is een goede aanvulling op andere manieren van participeren omdat het weer een nieuwe groep betrekt die misschien normaal minder actief meedoet. Online participatie is dus aanvullend aan andere methoden om een breed gedragen gevoel te krijgen wat leeft op een bepaalde plek, ideeën te genereren, informatie te delen en draagvlak te creëren.

In other words, online participation exclusively went surprisingly fast. The first meetings were quickly arranged and almost everyone was behind the image ready to listen and respond.

Just like physical participation, online participation has also handicaps. During physical meetings you miss some groups of the population, and that also applies to online participation. Not everyone has a computer or is handy enough to participate online.  Some people do not dare to speak at a normal meeting, and it was the same at an online meeting. Technology can also be a barrier. So, we have to look for a balance to achieve that as many people as possible can participate online.

Online participation is a good addition to other ways of participating because it involves a new group that may normally participate less actively. Online participation is thus complementary to other methods to get a broader idea about what is relevant in a certain place, to generate ideas, to share information and to create support.

Anteriormente ya habíamos vinculado a los residentes digitalmente a través de encuestas, información y / o debates, pero ahora tuvimos que cambiar por completo. En otras palabras, el cambio a una participación exclusivamente en línea ocurrió sorprendentemente rápido: las primeras reuniones en línea se organizaron rápidamente y casi todos los invitados lograron estar a tiempo detrás de la pantalla listos para escuchar y responder.

Al igual que la participación física, la participación en línea también tiene obstáculos. Hay ciertos grupos de la población a los que no se llega durante las reuniones físicas, y lo mismo ocurre con la participación en línea. No todo el mundo tiene computador o son lo suficientemente prácticos como para participar en línea. Algunas personas no se atreven a decir nada en una reunión normal, y ocurre lo mismo en una reunión en línea. La tecnología también puede ser un obstáculo. Por lo tanto, es necesario buscar un equilibrio para que tantas personas como sea posible puedan participar en línea.

La participación en línea complementa muy bien otras formas de participación porque involucra a un nuevo grupo que normalmente puede participar de manera menos activa. De esta manera se puede llegar a una idea más completa lo que vive en un lugar determinado, generar ideas, compartir información y crear apoyo.
