Highlights

College tour interview door Katja Keuchenius met Pepijn Verpaalen (URBANOS).
Ontwerpatelier waarin deelnemers samen werken aan een concreet ontwerpvraagstuk dat door een gemeente wordt ingebracht.
Workshops door BTL advies (Jules Bongers over Placemaking) en Anteagroup (Marijke Embregts en Claire Evers over Augmented reality en Gaming) over het nieuwe samenspel tussen bewoners, ondernemers, maatschappelijke organisaties en overheid rondom (het ontwerp en beheer van) de openbare ruimte.

Achtergrond
De ‘Future Green City’, de toekomstbestendige en duurzame stad en openbare ruimte, wordt in de toekomst ontworpen, beheerd én bewoond door studenten van nu. Reden genoeg voor Stadswerk en VHG om voor haar leden sessies rondom relevante Future Green City-thema’s te organiseren die ook toegankelijk zijn voor studenten. Zodat het professioneel werkveld in het heden kan kennismaken met de toetreders van de nabije toekomst. Dat doen we in de Future Green City Collegetour die tussen 20 september en 17 januari 2019 zeven Hogescholen, verspreid over het hele land, aandoet. Thema’s die aan bod komen zijn circulaire economie, klimaatverandering en veiligheid, doe democratie, energietransitie, klimaatadaptatie, vrije tijd versus leefbaarheid en groen en gezondheid.

13:30-14:30	Collegetour interview door interviewer Katja Keuchenius met Pepijn Verpaalen van URBANOS.
	Pepijn Verpaalen heeft als stedenbouwkundige projecten gedraaid voor winkeliersverenigingen, sociale ondernemingen en gemeenten. Voor Verpaalen is de kern van de doe democratie: de kracht van andere partijen benutten. Partijen die vroeger niet betrokken waren bij stedelijke ontwikkeling (ondernemers, inwoners, maatschappelijke organisaties) willen dat nu wel zijn! Ze willen de stedelijke omgeving mee veranderen, door financieel en/of met tijd bij te dragen. Zelf en zonder te wijzen naar de gemeente als ze even goede wil hebben getoond. Voor de overheid is het zaak vertrouwen te bieden, niet in de weg te lopen en anderzijds dat wél kritisch te blijven op initiatieven. In het interview komen drie thema’s aan bod: tijdelijke verandering van de openbare ruimte, doe-democratie: naar wie luister je? en hyperreality.
14:30-15:30	Workshopronde. Keuze uit twee workshops.
	Jules Bongers (BTL advies) heeft het over verweven van wensen van belanghebbenden in het inrichtingsproces. Het gewenste eindbeeld en kwaliteitsniveau kent een prijs. Wil de belanghebbende in actie komen door ook zelf onderhoud uit te voeren? De deelnemers gaan het samenspel tussen belanghebbenden actief ervaren door te werken aan een inrichtingcasus over Placemaking. Wie spelen een rol? Hoe krijgen alle belangen een plek? En matchen al deze wensen met het gemeentelijk budget voor het toekomstig beheer? Wie kan en wil zelf wat betekenen in het beheer van de publieke ruimte?
	Marijke Embregts en Claire Evers (Anteagroup) nemen u in hun workshop mee richting de (nabije) toekomst en instrumenten die nu, en in de toekomst, steeds meer ingezet gaan worden in inrichtingsprocessen: augmented reality, maar ook games.

Background
The Future Green City, the city and the future-proof and sustainable public space, will be designed, managed and inhabited by today’s students in the future. Reason enough for Stadswerk and VHG to organize sessions for their members on relevant topics of Future Green City that are also accessible to students. So that the professional field in the present can meet with newcomers of the near future. We do this in the Future Green City Colleague which, between September 20 and January 17, 2019, visits seven universities throughout the country. Topics covered include circular economy, climate change and security, democracy, energy transition, climate adaptation, leisure versus livability and ecology and health.

	Pepijn Verpaalen has participated in urban development projects for associations of entrepreneurs, social enterprises and municipalities. For Verpaalen, the core of democracy is to use the power of other parties. The parties that were previously not involved in urban development (entrepreneurs, residents, social organizations) would like to participate! They want to change the urban environment, contributing financially and / or with time. Himself and without pointing to the church if they have shown equal goodwill. For the government it is important to have confidence, not intervene and, on the other hand, to remain critical of the initiatives. In the interview three topics will be discussed: temporary change of public space, DIY democracy: who are you listening to? and the hyperreality.

And all these wishes coincide with the municipal budget for future management?

Razón suficiente para que Stadswerk y VHG organicen sesiones para sus miembros sobre temas relevantes de Future Green City que también son accesibles para los estudiantes. Para que el campo profesional en el presente pueda reunirse con los recién llegados del futuro cercano. Hacemos esto en el Future Green City Colleague que, entre el 20 de septiembre y el 17 de enero de 2019, asiste a siete universidades en todo el país. Los temas cubiertos incluyen economía circular, cambio climático y seguridad, democracia, transición energética, adaptación al clima, ocio versus habitabilidad y ecología y salud.

	Pepijn Verpaalen ha participado en proyectos de desarrollo urbano para asociaciones de comerciantes, empresas sociales y municipios. Para Verpaalen, el núcleo de la democracia es utilizar el poder de otros partidos. ¡A las partes que anteriormente no estaban involucradas en el desarrollo urbano (empresarios, residentes, organizaciones sociales) les gustaría participar! Quieren cambiar el entorno urbano, contribuyendo financieramente y / o con tiempo. Sí mismo y sin señalar a la iglesia si han mostrado igual buena voluntad. Para el gobierno es importante tener confianza, no interponerse y, por otro lado, seguir siendo críticos con las iniciativas. Los participantes experimentarán activamente la interacción entre las partes interesadas al trabajar en un caso de instalación en Placemaking. ¿Quién juega un papel? ¿Cómo consiguen un lugar todos los intereses? ¿Y todos estos deseos coinciden con el presupuesto municipal para la gestión futura?
